1. Promoter

This promotional competition is conducted by Closing the Digital Divide Technical Institute (CDDTI) (“CDDTI”).

  1. Competition Period

2.1 The competition will commence on 13 July 2026 and will run on a recurring bi-weekly basis until further notice.

2.2 Each competition cycle shall:

  • Commence on Monday upon publication of the competition post;
  • Close at 23:59 on the Wednesday of the following week;
  • The winner shall be selected and announced on Friday of the same week following closure.

2.3 Entries received after the specified closing date and time will not be considered.

  1. Eligibility

3.1 The competition is open to South African citizens aged 18 years or older.

3.2 The following persons are excluded from participation:

  • Employees, directors, and agents of CDDTI;
  • Immediate family members (including spouse, partner, parent, child, or sibling) of such employees.
  1. Entry Mechanism

4.1 To enter, participants must complete all of the following actions:

  • Follow CDDTI on TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook;
  • Like the competition post;
  • Share the competition post;
  • Comment on the post and tag three (3) distinct individuals.

4.2 Where a participant uses different usernames across platforms, all usernames must be disclosed in the comment section of the competition post.

4.3 All entry requirements must be completed in full to qualify.

  1. Account Integrity and Fraud Prevention

5.1 Only genuine, pre-existing social media accounts will be considered eligible.

5.2 Any account created on or after the start of a competition cycle, or reasonably suspected to have been created for the purpose of increasing chances of winning, may be disqualified at the sole discretion of CDDTI.

5.3 CDDTI reserves the right to disqualify participants who:

  • Use fake, duplicate, bot, or automated accounts;
  • Engage in any conduct intended to manipulate or unfairly influence the outcome of the competition;
  • Provide false or misleading information.
  1. Entry Validity

6.1 Only entries demonstrating verifiable engagement across all three platforms will be deemed eligible.

6.2 Additional engagement with other CDDTI content may be considered as a qualitative factor but does not guarantee selection.

  1. Prize

7.1 The prize consists of one (1) R250 Takealot voucher per competition cycle.

7.2 The prize:

  • Is not transferable;
  • Cannot be exchanged for cash or any alternative;
  • Is subject to Takealot’s own terms and conditions.
  1. Winner Selection

8.1 One (1) winner will be selected per competition cycle.

8.2 The winner will be selected by means of a random draw from all eligible entries, taking into account compliance across all required platforms.

8.3 CDDTI’s decision is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into.

  1. Winner Notification and Forfeiture

9.1 The winner will be contacted via direct message (DM) on the relevant platform.

9.2 The winner must respond within 48 (forty-eight) hours of notification.

9.3 Failure to respond within this period will result in:

  • Automatic forfeiture of the prize; and
  • Selection of an alternate winner.
  1. Prize Fulfilment

10.1 The prize will be delivered electronically via a mutually agreed channel, including but not limited to direct message or email.

10.2 CDDTI shall not be liable for:

  • Incorrect or incomplete participant information;
  • Any failure or delay in delivery caused by technical issues or third-party service providers.
  1. Limitation of Liability

11.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, CDDTI shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or expense arising from participation in the competition or acceptance of the prize.

11.2 CDDTI accepts no responsibility for any technical failures affecting the entry, selection, or notification process.

  1. Data Protection (POPIA Compliance)

12.1 By entering, participants consent to the collection and processing of their personal information for the purpose of administering this competition.

12.2 Personal information will be processed in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

12.3 Information will not be shared with third parties except where necessary for the administration of the competition or where required by law.

  1. Rights of CDDTI

13.1 CDDTI reserves the right to:

  • Amend, suspend, or terminate the competition at any time without prior notice;
  • Disqualify any participant who breaches these Terms and Conditions.

This competition is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, or Takealot.

  1. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
